TenantClaim

Terms of Service

Last updated September 29, 2026

These terms govern use of TenantClaim.org. By accessing the site, the calculator, or a generated demand letter, you agree to this civic informational technology notice.

Civic informational technology

TenantClaim is a self-help civic utility. It publishes statutory deadlines, penalty multipliers, and small-claims ceilings compiled from official sources so tenants can understand their options. The service is informational technology, not a law firm, court filing system, or government agency.

Not legal advice

TenantClaim provides legal information, not attorney-client legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is created when you use the calculator, read a state guide, or generate a demand letter. Statutes and local ordinances change. Confirm the current text of the cited code with official .gov sources or a licensed attorney in your state before you sue, settle, or send a letter.

Permissible use

You may use TenantClaim for personal, non-commercial tenant self-help. You may not scrape the site to train competing commercial models, misrepresent generated letters as attorney work product, or use the service to harass landlords or tenants. Automated access that degrades the service is prohibited except for ordinary search-engine crawling.

Limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, TenantClaim and its operators are not liable for lost deposits, court outcomes, missed filing deadlines, or damages arising from reliance on a calculation or letter template. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which a dispute is brought, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply a different body of law to the informational notices on this site.
